World series schedule
“We can celebrate with our fans,” said Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. “To be able to take it with them and do it through the streets of Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium, that’s where all of this will be the most special.” https://wpcotrck.com/
As they faced the Padres in the NL Division Series, the Dodgers were underdogs after falling behind two games to one, facing elimination in the first round for the third consecutive year. That’s when Kiké Hernández and the rest of the leadership in the clubhouse decided to speak up. They weren’t going to go down without a fight.
• 11 runs were the Yankees’ most in a World Series game since 1978 Game 5 (12). They played 48 World Series games in between. Only 10 MLB franchises have even played 48 World Series games total. It was also the second-most runs in a game facing elimination in Yankees postseason history. They scored 12 in Game 6 in 1960.
Yankees dodgers world series game 3
Giancarlo Stanton was the lone Yankees runner on base. Stanton, whom Statcast ranks as the 19th-slowest player in all of baseball, broke toward third. And just as Dodgers left fielder Teoscar Hernández gathered the ball, Stanton stepped on third with Yankees coach Luis Rojas waving him home.
The Yanks were on the verge of a four-game sweep, with future Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera on the mound to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning of Game 4. But after Kevin Millar drew a leadoff walk, pinch-runner Dave Roberts stole second (a swipe now known as “The Steal” thanks to what came next) and Bill Mueller singled up the middle, the game was tied.
With the winner-take-all showdown tied at 2-2 in the sixth inning, Mickey Mantle hit a go-ahead homer that proved to be the difference in a 4-2 victory. Mantle finished 10-for-29 (.345) with two homers, three RBIs and a 1.061 OPS in the series. Yogi Berra added two homers while Johnny Mize went 6-for-15 (.400) with three home runs and six RBIs.
Despite his big-game reputation, Buehler had an uncharacteristically difficult year in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. But in five scoreless innings in which he allowed just a pair of hits with two walks and five strikeouts, Buehler looked like his old self, with nice life on his fastball. He now has a 0.50 ERA in 18 career World Series innings.
1939: Yankees over RedsLou Gehrig retired early in the season after being stricken with ALS, but it didn’t stop the Yankees from plowing through Cincinnati to win their second straight World Series — both by way of a sweep.
Game flags of the world
Another idea surrounding the flag explains it as green stands for the color of the meadows, white for the snow of the Alps, and red for the blood and sacrifice during the Wars of Italian Independence and Unification.
The flag of Nepal stands out for its unconventional shape. The Nepalese flag is the only non-rectangular national flag in the world. It consists of two juxtaposed triangles. They are a crimson colour with a deep blue outline. A white emblem of a crescent moon with eight rays appearing from it is in the top triangle. A white image of a twelve rayed sun is in the lower triangle.
Each country has its own flag to identify itself (as well as territories, cities, provinces, states and most geographical entities but for this quiz it just countries). Many times the flags look very similar. Learning flags can be tricky, but the best way to learn them is by studying the different patterns in the flags. This game can help to practice those patterns by using repetition. How well do you know the flags of each country? We are sure that apart from your country’s flag, you know the flags of a few other countries, but will you be able to match a flag to its country? And will you recognize the symbols that appear on the different flags and know how to distinguish them? Will you be able to recognize the flags of countries like Switzerland, Germany, France, Portugal and South Africa?
National flags are a symbol for a country or region. Everything that represents that country is gathered onto a small rectangle. Flags are used to signify governmental buildings, the borders of regions, and have been used in the past for battle signals.
The flag’s colours are symbolic. The teal-green represent the landscapes and agriculture of the country. The black symbolises the African continent, and the yellow signifies the country’s rich mineral resources. The red symbolises the blood shed in the struggle for independence. The star represents the international solidarity of the people of Mozambique.
The Republic of Kiribati is an island in Oceania, in the central Pacific Ocean. The bottom half of its flag has three blue and three white wavy stripes. These represent the Pacific Ocean and the three archipelagoes of Gilbert, Phoenix and the Line Islands.
