The alien “Beast” creature from the game’s first level was ranked sixth on the GameSpot’s 1999 top list of best monsters in gaming and IGN ranked the game’s laser gun as the 86th best weapon in gaming history in 2012. The alien “Buddy” was ranked third on GameSpot’s list of the ten best sidekicks in 2000, along with a comment that the “groundbreaking” Another World “is one of those rare games that everybody seemed to love.” Discussing “Buddy” in 2013, Rock, Paper, Shotgun’s Adam Smith called him still “one of gaming’s greatest companions”.

We haven’t seen a World Series winner crash this hard and this fast since the old Florida Marlins fire sale days, and the Nationals themselves held a fire sale this week. They did what seemed unthinkable a few months ago, and traded wunderkind Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres for a five-prospect package. Soto rejected a 15-year, $440 million extension a few weeks back and it seemingly pushed the team to act.
With both of those matchups complete, let’s take a look back at MLB Game 7 history and break down what happens when a playoff series reaches that all-important game. Here are all the Game 7 facts, figures and highlights you need to know.
This is the single biggest problem for the Nationals right now. Their farm system simply has not produced enough talent to sustain a postseason contender, and that’s saying something for a organization that pumped out Soto not too long ago. Sean Doolittle, the Nationals’ fifth pitcher of the game, got the final out of the eighth inning and retired the side in order in the bottom of the ninth, concluding matters when Carlos Correa lined out to Víctor Robles to preserve the win. Doolittle earned his second save of the postseason and the underdogs took the series lead, marking the first time in franchise history that the Nationals won a World Series game.
Fast forward to today and the Nationals are a last place club barreling toward their second straight season of at least 95 losses. Since winning the World Series less than three years ago, Washington has a .388 winning percentage, which is a 99-loss pace in a 162-game schedule. Only the Pittsburgh Pirates (.372) and Arizona Diamondbacks (.378) have worst winning percentages since the start of the 2020 season.

Standing room-only tickets (SROs) will only be sold the day of the game at the Charles Schwab Field Omaha ticket office if that game is sold out. Starting the journey of Fallout 2 as a tribesman with nothing more than a loincloth and a spear to my name and gradually fighting my way up to a power-armored, gauss-gunning killing machine is a fantastic and surprisingly natural feeling of progression – one that few games have been able to match. Exploring a vast post-apocalyptic world full of deadly raiders, supermutants, and deathclaws is daunting but exciting. Thanks to attention to detail, atmospheric music, powerfully written morally ambiguous quests, and voice-acted interactions with key characters, the world feels personal and vivid even though we view it from a distant third-person camera. – Dan Stapleton (Read Our Review)
