One great thing about World War Z is that it delivers a bloody great coop experience with your mates. I am a massive co-op gaming fan, and this game continually brings a lot of fun into your gaming session. If you haven’t played the game at all or it’s been some time since you last had a crack at World War Z, I highly recommend you get into the game and give it a go. Cross-play also makes finding teammates a lot easier and while we always played two-player co-op with two AI units, it was never difficult to find groups to play with even today.
The game is a co-operative third-person shooter in which four players fight against massive hordes of zombies in seven locations, including New York, Jerusalem, Moscow, Tokyo, Marseille, Rome and Kamchatka. Each location, or episode as it is known in-game, is divided into 3-5 individual levels. After completing a level, players receive “supplies” based on a resulting defeat or victory. Supplies can be used to upgrade weapons and unlock new attachments. Perks can be bought for specific classes using supplies.
Without a doubt, it’s hard to play World War Z without comparing it to Valve’s Left 4 Dead series. Many of the similarities are here but Saber Interactive decided to take to those concepts and fleshed them out. Adding a leveling system and a larger variety of competitive options. It’s a cooperative shooter with lots of things to kill and while that may sound mediocre it’s done so well here. World War Z is all about mindless carnage as you plow through another wave of zombies.
Everything else is free for all players regardless of platform, such as the new ‘Improving Bag’ power-up that gives you a unique boost to strikes, more ammo capacity, and one additional equipment slot in PvE and Horde mode. Then there’s the nifty new customizable player portrait frames that’ll display on the scoreboard in lobbies to show off your undead personality.
