The average ticket price on StubHub for last year’s series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks was $884. In 2022, the average price for the World Series between the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies was $1,303.
After the second game, prices for Game 4 declined by 41% to more than $1,400. And after last night’s faceoff, the average Game 4 ticket price slid an additional 10%, falling under $1,300 or about half the initial amount.
StubHub offers refunds for contingent games if they’re not played, so Budelli recommended fans purchase tickets in advance with prices likely to rise. And if there is a Game 7, Budelli said there could be cause for more headlines.

He masterfully used lefty Jose Alvarado in the fifth and sixth innings to get through the Yordan Alvarez/Alex Bregman/Kyle Tucker trio and then the same move later on with lefty starter Ranger Suarez. Baker left Verlander in too long and arguably chose the wrong reliever in the 10th. This game isn’t on Baker, though. Give credit to the Phillies for doing everything right and coming up with clutch hits and clutch plays at the right time. And there certainly will be a new narrative in development: Verlander, the future Hall of Famer, is now winless in eight career World Series starts (0-6 with a 6.07 ERA). Unless the Phillies sweep, he’ll get another chance in Game 5.

A’s catcher Gene Tenace was the hero in the opener, giving Oakland a two-run lead with a homer in the second, then crushing a go-ahead shot in the fifth, which accounted for half of the four hits against Cincinnati’s Gary Nolan. In that one game, Tenace doubled his entire hit total over Oakland’s five-game American League Championship Series win over the Tigers, when he went 1-for-17, and his homers helped the A’s ride to a 3-2 victory. Tenace went 8-for-23 in the series with four homers and a 1.313 OPS en route to earning the World Series MVP Award.
This will be the 12th time the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers meet in the World Series, the most of any two teams in Major League Baseball. While once a frequent match-up, it’s one that hasn’t been seen in over 40 years.

Which is really sad, because it’s a beautiful, fun combat game that has a lot of potential, that was squandered by the developers making wrong decision after wrong decision, culminating with a mandatory expansion that was basically the price of the main game for not even a third of the content, and instead of making new world more accessible, the player numbers tanked to the point of financial unviability.
What I’ve played of Aeternum does feel like the “ultimate version of New World” that Amazon promised, but is it too little too late? While competitors like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 14 have continued to flourish, New World didn’t have legs. Amazon has arguably taken a risk in deciding to shoot for mass appeal with this reboot, upsetting its admittedly small core audience in the process, and while the console release will lead to an influx of new players, Aeternum has an uphill battle on its hands to get the OG fans back onside.
Our journey begins as it did before: in the bowels of a rickety old ship bound for the mysterious Isle of Aeternum. The cutscenes aren’t available in the Summer Game Fest build, so I’m launched into the character creator and then onwards to the upper decks. As thunder booms and the waves continue to batter the sides of our vessel, a barrel explodes in front of me, opening a path for what I presume was once one of my crewmates, who shambles menacingly towards me, weapon raised. New World: Aeternum thrusts you into the heart of the action immediately, and I like it.
